Pierre Foods Adds 500 Jobs to North Carolina Site

Pierre Foods, Inc. announced plans yesterday to expand its existing manufacturing facility in Claremont, North Carolina.  The $16.8 million investment will create 500 new jobs over the next three years.  A state grant from the One North Carolina Fund supported the project, and will allow the company to retain its 717 current employees.

"We look forward to continuing our partnership with the State and thank all of our dedicated employees within the region for their contribution to our success," said Pierre CEO Bill Toler.

Pierre produces frozen, cooked meats and sandwiches that are distributed to schools, the military, vending machines, warehouse clubs and convenience stores.
