Hirschvogel Automotive Group Plans Production Plant Expansion In Columbus, Ohio
03/30/2015
The bulk of Hirschvogel Automotive Group’s investment will go toward new machinery and equipment to keep its Columbus Region facility at the forefront of the steel and aluminum forging and machining business. The company also will add 65,000 square feet to its existing location at 2230 S. Third Street on Columbus’ South Side, bringing its total footprint to more than 200,000 square feet.
“The level of collaboration between the City of Columbus, Columbus 2020 and JobsOhio was a major factor in our decision to continue to invest in the Columbus Region with this latest expansion,” said Witold Salandyk, President/CEO, Hirschvogel Automotive Group. “Access to a well-trained manufacturing talent pool and the proximity to automotive customers have also kept us in Central Ohio.”
As part of its investment, the company will retain its 322-employee workforce and add 37 new jobs over the next three years. Hiring for the new jobs, which will all be manufacturing and machining positions, will begin in the fall. “Yet another major investment on the South Side is a welcome addition and we thank Hirschvogel,” said Mayor Michael B. Coleman. “Foreign-direct investment is important to the Columbus Region’s economic future, and so are more high-quality manufacturing jobs for our residents.” Hirschvogel Automotive Group has had a presence in Central Ohio since 1988.
