China-Based Jiangnan Mold Plastic Technology Plans $45 Million Manufacturing Plant In Greer, South Carolina
04/04/2016
One of the largest suppliers of plastic mold parts in China’s automotive industry, Jiangnan Mold Plastic Technology Corporation specializes in the development, manufacturing and sales of plastic products and hi-tech molds. The company will manufacture a variety of parts and products for original equipment manufacturers and tier one suppliers in the automotive industry.
The plant, which is expected to be fully operational in the second half of next year, is strategically positioned to support South Carolina’s thriving automotive sector.
“This investment in South Carolina and in Spartanburg County will further strengthen Jiangnan’s effort to expand its global leadership role in the plastic molding industry. It is very clear to us that South Carolina is a pro-business state, and we look forward to continuing our cooperation with the state as we grow,” said Jiangnan Mold Plastic Technology Corporation Chairman of the Board of Directors and General Manager Robert Cao.
“Jiangnan’s move to Spartanburg further proves what so many already know – that South Carolina has become a top destination for any company in the automotive industry. This $45 million investment, and the 150 new jobs it will create, is a huge win for the company, Spartanburg County, and the entire state of South Carolina,” Governor Nikki Haley said.
“We are exceedingly pleased that Jiangnan chose to locate a new operation in Spartanburg County and welcome yet another international company to our community. The decision to locate here continues to demonstrate Spartanburg's ability to attract international manufacturing operations and highlights the role our skilled workforce plays in recruiting companies,” David Britt, chairman of the Economic Recruitment Committee of Spartanburg County and member of the Economic Futures Group Board explained.
