Mohawk Industries Expands Manufacturing in Carroll County, Virginia

Mohawk Industries, the leading global manufacturer of residential and commercial flooring products, will purchase new equipment and expand its manufacturing operation in Carroll County, Virginia.

“We are excited to expand production in Hillsville and appreciate the opportunity to continue providing great jobs in the Commonwealth,” Plant Manager Ed Spivey said. “Operating a growing business means creating continued opportunities for the people in this community. We appreciate our team’s diligence and dedication that supports the demand for Mohawk’s award-winning residential carpet.”

The Virginia Economic Development Partnership worked with Carroll County and Virginia’s Industrial Advancement Alliance to secure the project for Virginia. The Virginia Tobacco Region Revitalization Commission approved $95,000 in Tobacco Region Opportunity Funds. Funding and services to support the company’s employee training activities will be provided through the Virginia Jobs Investment Program.

“Mohawk Industries is an important corporate steward of Carroll County and the Commonwealth, and we are pleased the company has decided to reinvest in Virginia, securing its future longevity in the region,” said Governor Ralph Northam. “This win can be attributed to the region’s strong workforce, infrastructure, and competitive business climate.
