Nord-Lock Group Expands Operations in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania
06/19/2019
The project includes the construction of a 125,000-square-foot building in Findlay Township that will serve as Nord-Lock Group’s North American headquarters. Manufacturing operations will be consolidated into the new site as well.
Nord-Lock Group and its wholly owned subsidiary, Superbolt, Inc, located in Carnegie Borough, need more manufacturing space to better serve their clients. The company has committed to investing at least $4 million into the project, which is expected to create 37 new, full-time jobs and retain 110 existing jobs over the next three years.
“Although Nord-Lock Group is a global company, with more than 25 offices around the world, our Superbolt products have had their roots in Pittsburgh for over 35 years,” said Steve Greenwell, President of Sales Region Americas and Director of Product Division Tensioning for Nord-Lock Group. “This new facility demonstrates our continued commitment to the wonderful Pittsburgh-area region, and we appreciate the support of our many partners, including the Pennsylvania Governor’s Action Team.”
As an incentive, Nord-Lock Group received a funding proposal from the Department of Community and Economic Development for the project. The proposal includes $111,000 in Job Creation Tax Credits to be distributed upon creation of the new jobs, and a $29,000 workforce development grant to help the company train its workers. The project was coordinated by the Governor’s Action Team, an experienced group of economic development professionals who report directly to the Governor and work with businesses that are considering locating or expanding in Pennsylvania, with additional coordination provided through Allegheny County Economic Development.
“Nord-Lock Group has been in Allegheny County for more than 30 years, and we’re thrilled to announce that the company will continue to grow right here in Pennsylvania,” said Governor Tom Wolf. “Nord-Lock group will create dozens of additional jobs as it expands in the coming years. This is great news for our manufacturing sector.”
