Shorr Packaging Begins Construction On New Headquarters-Warehouse Complex in Aurora, Illinois
07/14/2015
David Shorr, CEO of Shorr Packaging said, "It was almost 25 years ago to the day that we had our groundbreaking ceremony for our existing facility on Commerce Street in Aurora. We were very proud that day, just as we are today."
According to company officials, “without applying for or accepting any tax incentives, Shorr Packaging chose a location on Ferry Road between Route 59 and Eola Road, in Aurora, DuPage County. After comprehensive studies, Shorr determined a consolidation of their three Aurora/Naperville facilities was an important project for their success in the years to come.” The project is expected to be completed next Spring.
"I congratulate Shorr Packaging on their growing business, and thank them for their commitment to creating and sustaining jobs in our community," said Congressman Bill Foster. "As a businessman myself, I know how much hard work and dedication it takes to build and grow a business, and I'm proud to see Shorr doing that here in Aurora."
"My voice joins with many others in praise of the leadership team at Shorr who looked so wisely to the future as they studied their options for locating their headquarters and consolidating three facilities," said Tonia Khouri, DuPage County Board Member, District 5 and Chairwoman of Economic Development. "The leaders at Shorr wanted to make sure local students, teachers and schools had the benefit of their tax dollars to create a workforce equipped to handle the challenges of tomorrow's business climate."
