ACCO Brands Expands Operations Campus in Booneville, Mississippi
08/03/2018
The company is adding new equipment to begin manufacturing paperclips at its Booneville location. The site last expanded in 2016, a reshoring expansion project which brought 34 front-office jobs to Booneville from Manila, Philippines. In 2014, the company added call center operations, creating 162 jobs. The addition of the 29 new jobs brings employment at ACCO Brands’ Booneville facility to approximately 550 workers.
“ACCO Brands is excited to add new jobs to help grow our local economy. The addition of paperclip manufacturing will allow diversification in our employee skill set and expand our capabilities within our facility,” said General Manager of ACCO Brands’ Booneville facility Bob Alley. “The strong partnership with the state of Mississippi, Prentiss County Development Association and the city of Booneville allows us to continue to grow and expand, and ACCO Brands appreciates this team working together toward growth.”
Mississippi Development Authority is providing assistance to finish a railroad crossing, as well as assistance for workforce training. In addition, the city of Booneville and Prentiss County are providing local tax abatements on any additional equipment needed for the project.
“The addition of paperclip manufacturing capabilities at ACCO Brands’ Booneville facility brings even more exciting career opportunities to the people of Prentiss County,” said MDA Executive Director Glenn McCullough, Jr. “The teamwork of our partners at the Prentiss County Development Association, Prentiss County and the city of Booneville, along with the MDA team, was instrumental in helping ACCO Brands achieve this important goal.”
