Winpak Investing $20M in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Expansion

Winpak, a packaging company, is investing more than $20 million to expand its facility in Winnipeg, Manitoba. The company is also expanding a manufacturing plant in Montreal and will build a new 250,000-square-foot facility in Chicago, the Winnipeg Free Press reports.

In the first phase of the company's expansion, Winpak will expand in Winnipeg and embark on the Chicago project. In Winnipeg, the company will add a production line to package foods.

Next year, the company will build an 80,000-square-foot addition to its 500,000-square-foot facility in St. James, a district in Wininpeg.

Winpak Vice President and CFO Ken Kuchma said the company has $90.5 million in cash, $38 million in unused credit lines, and no debt.
