Israel-Based ICL Specialty Fertilizers Expands Summerville, South Carolina, Operations
06/08/2018
The company extracts raw materials and utilizes sophisticated processing and product formulation technologies to add value to customers in the agriculture and industrial industries. Aiming to increase capacity, the company’s investment is projected to create approximately 25 new jobs in Dorchester County. The expansion is expected to be completed in the fourth quarter of this year.
ICL’s operations are organized under two segments: the Essential Minerals segment and the Specialty Solutions segment. The Essential Minerals segment includes three business lines: ICL Potash and Magnesium; ICL Phosphate Commodities; and ICL Specialty Fertilizers. The company’s Summerville, S.C. facility is part of its ICL Specialty Fertilizers business line.
“ICL Specialty Fertilizers has enjoyed many years of successful operations in the Lowcountry. The business climate and culture have always been a great fit. We are very excited about the investment at our Summerville site and look forward to the continued partnership with the county and the state,” said ICL Specialty Fertilizers Director of Operations Craig Bova.
“South Carolina’s manufacturing industry continues to get stronger, and today’s announcement by ICL is further proof of that. We congratulate ICL for choosing to grow its operations in the Lowcountry and look forward to their continued success in South Carolina for years to come,” Governor Henry McMaster said.
“ICL is an established leader in the specialty minerals market with clients around the world. The company has also been part of the state’s business community for a number of years. This expansion reaffirms ICL’s commitment to our state and serves as another testament to South Carolina’s strong business climate,” said Secretary of Commerce Bobby Hitt.
“Dorchester County congratulates ICL on their decision to expand their facility. The addition of 25 new jobs to our community is critical to Dorchester County’s mission of being a strong and resilient place to live, work and play. We look forward to seeing ICL grow its footprint in a sustainable, responsible manner that contributes to our residents’ overall quality of life,” Dorchester County Council Chairman Jay Byars noted.
