Artificial intelligence company ElevenLabs plans to expand its operations in New York, New York. The $33 million project is expected to create 230 jobs.

The company will relocate from its existing office on Spring Street to 40 Crosby Street.

“New York City is a global center for innovation, talent, and creative energy, making it the ideal place for ElevenLabs to scale our U.S. presence,” said ElevenLabs Co-Founder Mati Staniszewski. “This expansion allows us to deepen our investment in frontier AI research, expand our industry partnerships, and advance our mission of reimagining human-technology interaction. We want to lead New York’s rapidly expanding AI ecosystem and this investment puts us in position to do so.”

The project is being supported by Empire State Development (ESD) with up to $4.4 million in performance-based Excelsior Jobs Program tax credits, which are tied to the company’s planned job creation and research and development investments.

“ElevenLabs is at the forefront of innovation in generative AI audio, and its expansion in New York City reinforces our state’s leadership in attracting the world’s most dynamic technology companies,” noted Empire State Development President, CEO and Commissioner Hope Knight. “This project will create hundreds of good-paying jobs, deepen New York’s bench of engineering talent, and support cutting-edge R&D that strengthens our growing AI ecosystem. ESD is proud to support ElevenLabs as it scales its U.S. operations here in the Empire State.”
