Smurfit Westrock Expands Saltillo, Mississippi, Manufacturing Operations

The $19.3 million project will include the purchase of new equipment that will convert flat container board into corrugated boxes at the company’s existing facility.
“Smurfit Westrock is committed to optimizing the performance and value of its manufacturing operations. The expansion of the Saltillo facility demonstrates our ongoing collaboration with development partners in Mississippi, increases capacity and growth within our system, and supports the communities where we live and work,” Smurfit Westrock North America President & CEO Laurent Sellier advised.
To support the project the Mississippi Development Authority (MDA) is providing assistance through the Mississippi Flexible Tax Incentive, or MFLEX, program. Lee County is assisting with the project, as well.

Smurfit Westrock is a provider of paper-based packaging solutions, offering a wide range of products from corrugated containers to consumer packaging, designed to be sustainable, renewable, and recyclable.
