Skorpios Technologies To Expand Its Albuquerque, New Mexico, Production Plant With State-Local Incentives
11/12/2015
“All of us at Skorpios would like to thank Governor Martinez, Secretary Barela and Mayor Berry for their outstanding support as we take the next step in the evolution of Skorpios,” said Stephen Krasulick, CEO/Founder of Skorpios Technologies. “We are thrilled to continue the expansion of our business in Albuquerque, and look forward to collaborating with the State and City to create opportunities that benefit the community and our company.”
As an incentive, Skorpios Technologies will receive $5.5 million from the state in Local Economic Development Act funding for infrastructure improvements at the company’s new facility in Albuquerque. Funding will assist the firm in expanding its research and development, test and assembly operations. In addition, the city of Albuquerque will contribute another $1.5 million in LEDA funds to help with infrastructure improvements.
“Building New Mexico into a high-tech jobs leader is a cornerstone of our efforts to grow and diversify our economy,” said Governor Susana Martinez. “That’s why we continue to do all we can to make New Mexico more competitive and business friendly – because it shows results by creating jobs for our families and communities.”
“Skorpios is a locally grown firm with the technology and expertise to be a game changer in the telecommunications and data communications industry, and we are proud they chose to keep their business in New Mexico,” said Economic Development Secretary Jon Barela. “The high-tech sector is a particular focus of growth for the Martinez Administration and we are pleased to partner with Skorpios to grow this enterprise and create good jobs.”
