SteelFab Plans $23.6 Million Expansion at Roanoke, Alabama, Factory
12/15/2020
The expansion, scheduled for completion in June 2021, will grow the plant’s Heavy Fab building by 40,000 square feet and add 11,000 square feet to an existing paint bay. It will also purchase new machinery and equipment.
“This project will bring in revenue to Randolph County, the City of Roanoke, and create jobs for the people in this area. It will be a win-win for everyone,” SteelFab plant manager Joey Whaley said. “The expansion will allow our plant to produce more volume and help manufacture heavier type of work.”
Randolph County announced an industrial expansion back in August, when JELD-WEN’s Wedowee plant said it would create up to 40 new jobs.
Randolph County EDA Director Bryant Whaley said, “this expansion proves that Randolph County is not only a great place to live and raise a family, but it has become a place people want to work,” he added.
SteelFab opened its Roanoke facility in 1997, and its workforce today numbers 175.
