06/17/2024
The new facility will utilize locally sourced raw materials to create products that reduce the erosion of soil and sediment into drainage systems. Construction is scheduled for completion in June 2025.
“We look forward to expanding our manufacturing facility into New Roads and look forward to our partnership with the local community,” Industrial Fabrics President and CEO Cary S. Goss said.
To support the project Louisiana Economic Development (LED) offered an incentives package featuring the comprehensive workforce development solutions of LED FastStart. It also includes a $180,000 performance-based grant from the Economic Development Award Program for reimbursement of infrastructure costs and utility repairs, contingent on approval from the Louisiana Economic Development Corporation board. In addition the company is expected to participate in the state’s Industrial Tax Exemption and Quality Jobs programs.
“Projects like this have benefits that radiate throughout the local and state economies,” LED Secretary Susan B. Bourgeois noted. ”Industrial Fabrics’ commitment to utilization of local raw materials, production of erosion control products and creation of new jobs will further strengthen our state’s thriving agribusiness and manufacturing sectors while helping our communities become more resilient.”
Industrial Fabrics’ geotechnical product lines includes geotextile fabrics, geogrids, liner material, silt fence, erosion control, pipeline protection and paving solutions for customers in the construction, industrial and residential industries.
“We are thrilled to see Industrial Fabrics investing in Pointe Coupee Parish with its $8 million expansion, showcasing the Louisiana Capital Region’s strength in the manufacturing industry,” Baton Rouge Area Chamber Senior Vice President of Business Development Russell Richardson added. “The company’s commitment to source its raw material locally will only further expand its economic impact in our community. We want to thank Industrial Fabrics for its investment and share our support for their further growth.”
