Laurel Machine & Foundry Expands Jones County, Mississippi, Operations

Industrial manufacturing company Laurel Machine & Foundry plans to expand operations at the Hawkes Industrial Park in Jones County, Mississippi. The more than $3.14 million project is expected to create at least seven jobs over the next three years.

The investment includes the construction of a new 20,000-square-foot machining facility and a 7,500-square-foot warehouse, as well as the purchase and installation of new equipment.

“I cannot think of a better way to celebrate 120 years of business in Laurel, Mississippi! As the fourth generation of a family-owned manufacturing company, I am excited to continue to grow our facilities in the great state of Mississippi, which has such an impressive business climate,” said Trent Mulloy, President, Laurel Machine & Foundry Co.

The Mississippi Development Authority (MDA) is providing assistance through the Mississippi Flexible Tax Incentive, or MFLEX, program.

For 120 years, LMF has been central to the Laurel community and Mississippi’s manufacturing sector. This year alone, economic growth in our state has been remarkable, and this latest investment continues that momentum,” noted MDA Executive Director Bill Cork.

Laurel Machine & Foundry offers a variety of industrial and manufacturing services, including computer numerical control and manual machining, plate and structural fabrication, metal processing and iron casting.
