BMSI Inc. To Establish Manufacturing Plant In Burnsville, Mississippi

06/09/2016
Industrial general contractor BMSI Inc. is investing $6 million in new manufacturing operations in Burnsville, Mississippi. The company plans to create 100 jobs. BMSI will locate in an existing 20,000-square-foot spec building at Yellow Creek Port South, with plans to expand it to 30,000 square feet.

The Burnsville facility will feature a state-of-the-art fabrication shop used to manufacture specialty products for the Department of Defense and commercial restaurant equipment. BMSI will also offer plant support for maintenance, structural welding/fabrication and process piping.

“BMSI is excited to be opening a new facility in Burnsville, Mississippi, at the Yellow Creek Port. The state of Mississippi, as well as the Tishomingo County Development Foundation and Yellow Creek Port, have made this the obvious choice of locations to build a new facility,” said BMSI President Robby Stephens. “We look forward to being a part of the growth and success of the Tishomingo County area.”

As an incentive, Mississippi Development Authority provided building improvement assistance in support of the project. In addition, Tishomingo County is providing ad valorem tax abatements effective for 10 years.

“Tishomingo County has experienced significant economic growth in recent months,” Governor Phil Bryant said. “I am pleased to continue the momentum as BMSI becomes the newest member of the Northeast Mississippi business community.”

“BMSI’s decision to invest in Tishomingo County is creating 100 new career opportunities for the people of Northeast Mississippi,” said MDA Executive Director Glenn McCullough, Jr. “We thank the company for choosing a Mississippi location and salute the teams at the Tishomingo County Development Foundation, Tishomingo County and the Yellow Creek Port who worked with MDA to make this project a reality.”

The company is slated to begin operations in Burnsville in the third quarter of this year.
