NGK Spark Plugs Plans Expansion At Its Sissonville, West Virginia Plant
01/09/2013
The firm plans to expand its facility to accommodate NGK's new oxygen sensors and spark plugs. Construction on the 8,000-square-foot addition to the sensor plant will begin in early this year.
According to the West Virginia Gov Earl Ray Tomblin’s office, NGK will install a new line dedicated to the production of a more technologically-advanced sensor. In addition, the spark plug facility on the same campus will install a new assembly line to produce a different style of spark plug. NGK expects these improvements will create 34 new jobs by 2014.
The Governor said the firm’s fourth expansion since 1994, when it established operations in West Virginia, “is a testament to the hard-work of NGK's employees at their Sissonville facility. It's clear, NGK's employees are essential to the company's success and ability to remain on the cutting edge of automotive technology. I'm proud of West Virginia's workforce and am thankful NGK continues to expand its roots here. NGK's commitment once again shows the world what great partners our people are to business."
