Baxter Aerospace Expands Washington City, Utah, Production Operations

10/14/2026
Aerospace and defense manufacturer Baxter Aerospace, Inc. plans to expand its operations in Washington City, Utah. The approximately $19.6 million project is expected to create 90 jobs over the next five years in Washington County.

The investment will include the leasing and equipping of a roughly 30,000-square-foot manufacturing facility that will transition advanced customer programs from prototype development to full-scale production, supporting aerospace, defense, satellite communications, autonomous aircraft, public safety, space and fusion energy applications.

“Expanding in southern Utah allows us to increase our manufacturing capacity and support our customers’ growing needs,” said Baxter Aerospace CEO Jeff Baxter. “We’re excited to build out our operations in Washington County and help shape the region’s aerospace future.”

To support the project, the Utah Governor’s Office of Economic Development (GOED) awarded Baxter Aerospace a post-performance tax reduction through the state’s Rural Economic Development Tax Increment Financing (REDTIF) program. “When we look at where the global economy is heading, we recognize that advanced manufacturing infrastructure is imperative,” noted GOED Commissioner Jefferson Moss. “Baxter Aerospace’s investment signals to the world that Utah’s economic future is fueled by frontier innovation in every corner of the state.”

Baxter Aerospace specializes in advanced manufacturing and engineering solutions for aerospace, defense and other technology-intensive industries. The company supports the development and production of specialized systems and components for satellite communications, autonomous aircraft, space and other mission-critical applications.

“Economic development isn’t only about recruiting new companies,” added Washington City Economic Development Director Rusty Hughes. “It’s also about helping the businesses already investing here find a path to their next stage of growth. Baxter has continued to expand its operations in Southern Utah, and Washington City is in a position to compete for that next investment.”
