Premium Auto Body Expands Jackson, Missouri, Operations

10/21/2026
Collision repair company Premium Auto Body plans to expand its operations in Jackson, Missouri. The project is expected to create at least five jobs in Cape Girardeau County.

The company will renovate and modernize an existing property, installing a new paint booth, additional vehicle lifts, upgraded HVAC and electrical systems, and improvements to office and customer service areas.

“This property gives us the room to grow and build the shop the way we need it,” said Premium Auto Body Co-Owner Jason Abernathy. “There is a lot of work ahead of us, but we’re excited to bring the building back into use and create a long-term home for Premium Auto Body.”

To support the project, Premium Auto Body is expected to receive approximately $49,606 through the Missouri Works Program, subject to verification of program requirements. The program provides financial assistance to companies expanding or retaining their workforce through access to capital in the form of state withholding tax benefits or tax credits tied to job creation.

“Bringing new investment and economic activity to Jackson is a meaningful win for the community and another sign of the momentum we’re seeing across Missouri,” noted Missouri Department of Economic Development Director Michelle Hataway.

Premium Auto Body specializes in automotive collision repair and vehicle restoration services. The company provides body repairs, refinishing, painting and related services for passenger vehicles.

“This project keeps an established business and its employees in Jackson, creates room for new hiring, and puts a long-vacant property back into productive use,” added SEMO REDI Director of Business Growth & Innovation Lucas Presson. “That is why we spend time meeting with local businesses. Those conversations help us identify growth opportunities early and bring the right local and state partners to the table. The City of Jackson and Missouri Department of Economic Development have both been important partners in this project.”
