02/25/2016
The privately held company is relocating its Peotone operations to Manteno to facilitate expansion and provide better access to primary supplier Nucor Steel’s Bourbonnais mill.
Construction of ABC Coating’s 80,000 square foot production facility – to be located on 14 acres in the 1500 block of Boudreau Road at Manteno’s Diversatech Business Park – is expected to be complete by Q4 2016.
“This is a great move that will enable us to meet our growth objectives,” explains ABC Coating Vice President Tom Greenfield, who anticipates increasing employment by as much as 25% by spring 2017. ABC currently employs 25, 32 during peak season, most of whom reside in Manteno and surrounding Kankakee County.
“Our team is certainly thrilled at the prospect of working closer to home,” adds Greenfield.
Locating in the Kankakee County Enterprise Zone also renders the company eligible for a 5-year property tax abatement, sales tax exemption on building materials, and other incentives.
