Lake Oconee Biotech Park Could Create 500 Jobs

Lake Oconee, Georgia is the site for a proposed 86-acre biotech park that is expected to create up to 500 jobs in the area, according to the Atlanta Business Chronicle. Developers hope that the park will draw drug development start-up companies and biotech manufacturers to Putnam County, Georgia.

The Rock Eagle Science Technology Park may cost more than $150 million. It is part of a 1,250-acre, mixed-use development that will have a high school, housing, and retail spaces.

A Southern California-based company that manufactures medical equipment is expected to be the park's central tenant, according to Ted Baker, manager of Georgia Fall Line Properties LLC, the project owner and developer.
