04/01/2026
The investment will include the purchase of a new facility and updated equipment.
“This expansion reflects our long-term investment in giving people in the Memphis area an opportunity by developing a skilled workforce that strengthens our company,” said Jonathan Keith, CEO of Morgan Steel. “By growing our capabilities here at home, we’re positioning Morgan Steel to deliver greater value for our customers, drive innovation in how we work and continue to create opportunities for our employees, their families and our community.”
Morgan Steel fabricates and processes structural and reinforcing steel products for construction and infrastructure projects. The company provides cutting, bending, welding, and assembly services for steel components used in commercial and industrial applications.
“Thanks to its access to interstate highways, waterways and rail, Memphis provides an ideal environment for Morgan Steel to continue expanding its headquarters. Investments like this are made possible by the region’s strong infrastructure and ready-and-able workforce, and we look forward to the company’s continued success in the years ahead," noted Deputy Governor and TNECD Commissioner Stuart C. McWhorter.
“Morgan Steel’s expansion is a powerful reminder that Memphis provides the foundation for businesses to not only survive but thrive,” added Duncan Williams, Board Chair of the Greater Memphis Chamber. “When a company grows from 18 employees to over 400 in just eleven years and chooses to reinvest nearly $12 million right here at home, it validates everything we know about Memphis’s competitive advantages. Scott and Chris Morgan have built something truly special, and their continued commitment to our city inspires confidence in Memphis’s economic future.”
“From workforce and infrastructure to partnerships that span city, county and industry, Morgan Steel’s expansion reflects the strength of our regional ecosystem,” said Joann Massey, President and CEO of Economic Development Growth Engine for Memphis and Shelby County. “Growth like this is the result of long-term collaboration and a shared commitment to positioning Memphis as a place where businesses can scale, innovate and succeed.”
