Morris Packaging Plans Marion County, Kentucky, Production Operations

Morris Packaging, a manufacturer of flexible products, plans to establish production operations in Lebanon, Kentucky. The $60.9 million project is expected to create 276 jobs in Marion County.

The more-than-100,000-square-foot facility will provide the company with increased printing and bag converting capacity and provide a redundancy option to its customers across the U.S. Construction is scheduled for completion by October.

To support the project the Kentucky Economic Development Finance Authority preliminarily approved a 15-year incentive agreement with the company under the Kentucky Business Investment program. The performance-based agreement can provide up to $4.8 million in tax incentives based on the company’s investment of $60.85 million and annual targets of creation and maintenance of 276 Kentucky-resident, full-time jobs across 15 years; and paying an average hourly wage of $30, including benefits, across those jobs.

By meeting its annual targets over the agreement term, the company can be eligible to keep a portion of the new tax revenue it generates. The company may claim eligible incentives against its income tax liability and/or wage assessments.

Morris Packaging will be a great addition to our sustainability efforts and to our manufacturing sector, which continues to diversify and grow.”

In addition, Morris Packaging can receive resources from Kentucky’s workforce service providers. Those include no-cost recruitment and job placement services, reduced-cost customized training and job-training incentives.

Morris Packaging offers sustainable packaging solutions, warehousing, inventory management, logistics management, design and brand services across various industries including the pet and human food sectors.
