ITT Corporation Expands Westminster, South Carolina, Operations Complex

05/21/2015
ITT Corporation is expanding its manufacturing operations in Westminster , South Carolina. The company will invest approximately $1 million to build a new test facility. The investment is part of a total of $2.5 million that the company expects to invest in the facility over the next five years in Oconee County.

Located at 105 Commerce Way in Westminster, South Carolina, the expansion of ITT’s operations in Westminster features a new specialized testing facility for natural gas vehicle (NGV) components, which are part of the company’s highly engineered Conoflow brand of products. These NGV components consist of compressed natural gas pressure regulators and liquid natural gas regulators for heavy vehicles.

“This expansion will allow us to deliver our latest advancements in natural gas valve technologies into this exciting and expanding global market, giving us the ability to better meet the needs of our customers with the highest quality products and services they have come to know from ITT. We look forward to continuing to grow our business and product capacity at the Westminster facility,” ITT Control Technologies Commercial Director Jeff Weisbeck said.

This facility has been part of the Westminster community since 1979 when the former Compact Air Products relocated to the area. Compact later became part of International Motion Control, which was subsequently acquired by ITT in 2007. In 2011, ITT consolidated its Conoflow brand of products into the Westminster operation.

“We have been a member of the Oconee County community for more than 25 years and are pleased to be able to grow our presence here. This facility expansion will give us enhanced capabilities to test natural gas vehicle components, which are an integral part of the strategic plan for the Control Technologies business,” ITT Corporation Westminster Plant Manager Rob Hartman added.

“The manufacturing industry continues to thrive in South Carolina. When world-class companies like ITT decide to expand operations in our state, it’s proof that our pro-business climate is encouraging industry to succeed. Congratulations to ITT Corporation, Oconee County and the entire Upstate community on today’s announcement,” said Secretary of Commerce Bobby Hitt.
