France-Based ARMOR-IIMAK Expands Boone County, Kentucky, Operations

05/05/2026
France-based thermal transfer ribbon manufacturer ARMOR-IIMAK plans to expand its operations in Boone County, Kentucky. The approximately $6 million project is expected to create 44 jobs.

The investment at the company’s existing facility will include modifications, new equipment installation, and increased production capacity.

“We are proud to deepen our commitment to Kentucky and the Boone County community through this expansion and are grateful for the support of Gov. Beshear’s administration and the Kentucky Economic Development Finance Authority,” said Ryan Heitkamp, COO of ARMOR-IIMAK. “This investment will strengthen our manufacturing capacity to meet growing customer demand while creating high-quality job opportunities for local residents. We look forward to continuing our partnership with the state and contributing to Kentucky’s ongoing economic momentum.”

To support the project, the Kentucky Economic Development Finance Authority preliminarily approved a 10-year incentive agreement under the Kentucky Business Investment program. The performance-based agreement can provide up to $600,000 in tax incentives based on the company’s $5.8 million investment and job creation targets.

“One of the key drivers behind our historic economic momentum has been Kentucky-based companies continuing to reinvest in the communities they serve,” noted Governor Andy Beshear. “This expansion is a testament to our state’s resources, skilled workforce, and strong partnerships.”

By meeting its annual targets over the agreement term, the company can be eligible to keep a portion of the new tax revenue it generates and may claim incentives against its income tax liability and/or wage assessments.

“ARMOR-IIMAK’s continued expansion highlights Northern Kentucky’s growing partnership with global businesses,” added Lee Crume, CEO of BE NKY Growth Partnership. “We’re proud to support the new jobs and additional capacity this project brings to the region.”

ARMOR-IIMAK is a manufacturer of thermal transfer ribbons and labeling solutions used in printing and product identification, supplying materials for barcode printing and packaging applications across multiple industries. The company’s operations include chemical formulation, coating, and production of consumables for printing systems.
