07/21/2025
The $135 million project will include space for new production lines and warehousing areas and a new converting line to assemble finished products.
“This expansion is a very big deal and the result of over a year’s hard work,” said Chris Biddle, general manager of US wound care manufacturing for Mölnlycke. “Besides creating new jobs, it will drive workforce development and bring technological advancements. It’s a win for Mölnlycke, for the local community and for patients. We’re excited about the positive impact it will have locally in Maine and across the broader US healthcare landscape.”
Mölnlycke Health Care is a medical device company focused on wound care and surgical solutions. The company is known for its wound care products featuring Safetac® technology, which is a soft silicone technology designed to minimize pain and tissue damage during dressing changes.
"This kind of investment reinforces the importance of the work MAME and our partners are doing to build strong pipelines of talent, modernize training programs and support the manufacturers who are powering Maine’s economy," noted John Lewis, executive director of the Manufacturers Association of Maine.
