Interlock Steel Structures Expands St Joseph, Missouri, Operations

08/01/2024
Interlock Steel Structures, a structured steel fabrication manufacturer, plans to expand its operations in St. Joseph, Missouri. The $773,000 project is expected to create four jobs.

The investment will allow the company to produce its own steel sheeting line while continuing to manufacture its Team Perka Buildings line of products, which includes fencing, railing, gates, and more.

“We are thrilled to announce the second recent expansion of our three-generation family business with the addition of a Steel Sheeting Roll Forming Line,” said the Thevenot Family Ownership Team. “This new capability complements our existing range of steel fabricated products, including structural steel frames, beams, girders, fences, railings, and more. Our commitment to quality and innovation continues to drive us forward, and we look forward to serving our customers with an even broader array of products.”

To support the project Interlock Steel Structures will benefit from the Missouri Works program, a tool that helps companies expand and retain workers by providing access to capital through withholdings or tax credits for job creation.

“We’re proud to support Interlock Steel Structures as it grows, invests, and helps Missourians prosper in St. Joseph,” notedMichelle Hataway, Director of the Department of Economic Development. “Missouri’s manufacturing sector is an important part of our economy that’s experiencing rapid growth. This company’s expansion will further strengthen our state’s position as a leading driver of economic opportunity.”

Interlock Steel Structures is a manufacturer that specializes in steel frames, trusses, and girders for pre-engineered custom buildings and structures.

“The Chamber’s Economic Development team is excited to see another expansion project happen in St. Joseph’s South Side,” added Natalie Hawn, President and CEO of the St. Joseph Chamber of Commerce. “This expansion will not only add jobs, but enhance quality and innovation. We’re thankful for Interlock Steel and Team Perka Buildings for continuing to invest in St. Joseph.”
