Mueller Water Products Eyes Decatur, Illinois

A leading manufacturer and marketer of products and services used in the transmission, distribution and measurement of water in North America, Mueller Water Products, Inc. plans to build a new, state-of-the-art foundry in Decatur, Illinois.

The foundry, planned for 2700 N. Jasper Street, will be one of the largest state-of-the-art, finished goods brass foundries in the world. The new facility will increase production capacity to meet current and future demands of Mueller customers and the industry. Up to 250 employees will work at the facility. Construction of the new facility is expected to begin in Fall 2019.

The company’s product and service portfolio includes engineered valves, fire hydrants, pipe connection and repair products, metering products, leak detection, and pipe condition assessment.

The foundry will be the first of its kind to be built in the United States in generations.”
