Intelligrated Inc. Invests $1.6 Million To Expand Its Danville, Kentucky, Manufacturing Plant
09/08/2014
“We are grateful for our collaborative relationship with the Commonwealth and the support of the Kentucky Business Investment program,” stated Chris Cole, CEO of Intelligrated Inc. “We are excited and anxious to move ahead with this expansion and look forward to making Danville an even bigger part of our growth plans.”
Governor Steve Beshear said, “After nearly moving manufacturing out of Kentucky, Intelligrated is making a solid commitment to growing its success here in the Commonwealth. This partnership will lead to the creation of dozens of jobs and a significant investment in central Kentucky, two extremely good reasons to mark this as a time for celebration.”
Intelligrated’s Danville facility was slated for closure in 2009 as the company planned to consolidate its operations to Ohio, the Governor’s Office said. Due to an increase in product demand and the local specialized workforce, however, Intelligrated kept the plant open, and it’s been growing ever since.
To encourage the investment and job growth in Boyle County, the Kentucky Economic Development Finance Authority preliminarily approved the company for tax incentives up to $1 million through the Kentucky Business Investment program. The performance-based incentive allows a company to keep a portion of its investment over the term of the agreement through corporate income tax credits and wage assessments by meeting job and investment targets.
“There is no greater vote of confidence in a community and its workforce than when a company decides to reinvest in and expand an existing facility,” said Danville Mayor Bernie Hunstad. “It carries even more importance when it’s an existing plant that was once slated for closure. Thanks to Intelligrated for recognizing the experience and productivity of its Danville workforce with this opportunity for expansion and future growth.”
