Eastern Metal Supply Expands Facilities in Texas, Georgia and Florida

01/07/2019
Eastern Metal Supply of Texas is opening a new 93,000 square foot facility in Dallas, Texas, and other operation centers in Lithia Springs, Georgia and West Palm Beach, Florida.

This facility will act as the distribution center for Greater DFW and North Texas. EMS Texas said it looks forward to providing next day service to their client partners in this area. This is the second recent expansion for EMS Texas with a 50,000 square foot facility in Van Buren, AR. preceding this one.

Additionally, Eastern Metal Supply of North Carolina, in order to expand service levels to the Georgia market, is relocating its Birmingham facility to Lithia Springs, Georgia, and doubling its size in the Atlanta metro area.

Service levels and delivery time to the Alabama market will remain the same while service capabilities to reach the entire Georgia market will improve substantially.

In addition, Eastern Metal Supply of Florida is also expanding in January 2019 with the addition of a new 110,000 square foot warehouse facility in West Palm Beach, which will primarily stock hurricane shutter protection components and patio/screen room enclosure products.

Moving inventory from EMS’ existing 105,000 square foot facility in West Palm Beach will allow for more floor space for shutter products manufacturing.

Also, during the first half of 2019, EMS Florida will add 90,000 square feet to their Eastern Architectural Systems building in Ft. Myers to carry additional inventory to service the shutter and patio/screen enclosure market on the west coast of Florida. This space will also house additional fabrication equipment to manufacture hoods and roof pans. These additions follow the earlier mid-2018 expansion of our Lakeland industrial distribution facility, increasing its size by 55,000 square feet to a total of 215,000 square feet.

Additionally, EMS Florida continues to invest in new fabrication equipment. A sophisticated C.R. Onsrud 5 axis X-Series 36 foot CNC, ideal for machining complex heavy extrusions in long lengths, showcases EMS Florida’s dedication to provide value-added services to their customers. In order to adding milling capacity, EMS Florida also added two Haas VF-2 3-axis vertical mills to primarily manufacture parts for the marine industry. Total fabrication investments exceed $600,000 for these projects.

Eastern Metal Supply of Missouri continues to show significant growth with their expansion into the upper Midwest and a 2017 facility in Stow, Ohio.

In recent years, EMS said it has widened their offerings by increasing fabrication capabilities, adding square footage, acquiring Tigress Outriggers & Gear, acquiring a window and door manufacturing company re-branded as Eastern Architectural Systems, and acquiring the 100% PVC dock/deck board Endeck product line from Enduris Extrusions.
