WestRock Company Expands Tupelo, Mississippi, Corrugated Plant
03/23/2018
The company plans to install a new 132-inch corrugator to replace an existing 87-inch machine. The new corrugator is expected to increase the facility’s competitiveness and improving product quality.
WestRock’s Tupelo facility has been in operation since 1971. The company currently employs more than 200 people in Mississippi. Mississippi Development Authority is providing assistance for private building modifications as an incentive. Mississippi Works funds are also available to assist with workforce training.
“WestRock is a proud member of the Lee County community, and we appreciate Governor Bryant’s and the Mississippi Development Authority’s support of our employees and operations in Tupelo,” said Jeff Chalovich, President of WestRock’s corrugated packaging business. “We look forward to continuing to provide high quality products and services from our operations in Mississippi.”
“WestRock’s growth in Tupelo demonstrates the many advantages a North Mississippi location offers companies, allowing them to expand and create jobs for the people of our state,” Governor Phil Bryant said.
“Mississippi aims to provide companies such as WestRock with a supportive business environment, enabling them to pursue growth, create new careers and achieve a competitive edge in today’s marketplace,” said MDA Executive Director Glenn McCullough, Jr. “We salute our partners at the Community Development Foundation whose diligent teamwork with MDA was instrumental in facilitating the upgrading of WestRock’s plant.”
