Harvest Garden Pro Locates Division Headquarters In Mooresville, North Carolina
10/02/2014
“We are excited about this move because it enables us to provide better support to our customers and product lines,” said Steve Liffers, Harvest Garden Pro Senior Vice President. “We appreciate the support we received from the State of North Carolina and the Mooresville community. Their efforts were instrumental in making this relocation a reality. We plan to get up and running quickly and we are looking forward to a robust 2015 season.”
The project was made possible in part by a performance-based grant from the One North Carolina Fund of up to $45,000. The One NC Fund provides financial assistance, through local governments, to attract business projects that will stimulate economic activity and create new jobs in the state. Companies receive no money up front and must meet job creation and investment performance standards to qualify for grant funds. These grants also require and are contingent upon local matches.
Harvest Power helps communities better manage and beneficially re-use organic waste through the production of renewable energy, soils, mulches and natural fertilizers. The Harvest Garden Pro subsidiary provides and sells tens of millions of bags of mulches, soils and bagged garden products through retail outlets across North America. With this move, the company will be better positioned to serve key operations, distribution channels and customers.
“North Carolina welcomes Harvest to Iredell County,” said Governor Pat McCrory. “Having a division headquarters locate in our state is not only a boost to the regional economy, but a testament to the strength of North Carolina communities.”
Other partners that helped with this project include: the N.C. Department of Commerce, the Economic Development Partnership of N.C., the Town of Mooresville, the Mooresville-South Iredell Economic Development Corporation and Iredell County.
