10/20/2020
The expansion will take place at AutoZone’s current distribution center in Lexington. Facility improvements include both building and fixture improvements as well as a parking expansion and other infrastructure upgrades. The expansion will increase distribution network capacity.
"We are so pleased to partner with the State of Tennessee as well as Lexington and Henderson County officials to provide more career opportunities for the hardworking people in and around Henderson County. AutoZone's continued investment in our community is a direct reflection of the tremendous efforts of our incredible AutoZoners and growing customer demand. Our ability to ensure that our customers, the motoring public, can safely and responsibly operate their vehicles remains essential,” AutoZone’s Lexington Distribution Center Manager, Joey Hamm said.
“I congratulate AutoZone on this project and its growth here in Tennessee. These jobs represent AutoZone’s continuous commitment to the Henderson County community. I’d like to thank this Tennessee-based company for investing in our state as we continue to get our economy back on track,” said Governor Bill Lee.
“We are proud that AutoZone calls Tennessee home and has chosen to expand its distribution capabilities here. Tennessee has established itself as a top state in the Southeast for the automotive industry, and I look forward to our continued partnership with AutoZone, whether it’s retail, manufacturing, distribution or its headquarters operations,” said TNECD Commissioner Bob Rolfe.
Headquartered in Memphis, AutoZone currently employs 100,000 people globally and 4,600 in Tennessee. The Lexington distribution center currently has approximately 425 full-time employees.
“We value AutoZone and couldn’t be more excited that they chose to expand in our community. It was a joy to work with them during this process. This announcement speaks volumes to the City of Lexington’s logistic advantages, infrastructure and business-friendly environment. Lexington is perfectly positioned for global distribution, offering prime access to the Southeast region and beyond,” Lexington Mayor Jeff Griggs noted.
