11/18/2020
The $17 million investment will include a $2 million forgivable loan from the province through its business expansion program. The project is expected to create 30 new jobs.
Production of Heinz Ketchup in Canada, a joint investment between Kraft Heinz Canada and the Government of Quebec business program, is set to begin in late summer 2021. The company expects to produce over 100 million pounds of Heinz Ketchup in its first two years. The new ketchup line is expected to provide over 45 million kilograms of Heinz Ketchup for Canadian consumers in the first two years as production ramps up.
"Kraft Heinz Canada is pleased to partner with the Quebec Government on this investment in bringing ketchup production back to Canada from the U.S.," says Bruno Keller, President, Kraft Heinz Canada.
"Through our partnership with Quebec and increased efficiencies at our Mont Royal facility it became possible to return this iconic product back to Canada for Canadians at this time," he added.
