Peak Energy Establishes Broomfield, Colorado, Battery Cell Engineering Operations
12/19/2024
The new battery cell engineering center will support development of the domestic sodium-ion battery supply chain and other high-performance, low-cost battery technologies.
"Peak Energy aspires to be the scale up partner of choice and lead the U.S. domestic battery manufacturing industry by creating a battery supply chain that directly invests in American jobs from mineral extraction to battery installation," said Landon Mossburg, co-founder and CEO of Peak Energy. "This engineering center puts us on track to achieving those goals and ending America's sole reliance on foreign supply chains. We're excited to partner with Colorado and be part of its clear track record of supporting the clean energy economy."
Peak Energy develops low-cost, giga-scale energy storage technology for the grid.
"Peak Energy is a welcome partner in Colorado’s growing renewable energy and battery ecosystem. When companies like Peak Energy choose Colorado for expansion, we have the power to develop critical renewable energy technologies, create new good-paying jobs and secure our energy future,” noted OEDIT Executive Director Eve Lieberman.
"Peak Energy’s decision to expand to Broomfield underscores Colorado’s growing leadership in renewable energy innovation and sustainable technology development,” added President of the Metro Denver EDC, Raymond H. Gonzales. “By advancing sodium-ion battery systems here, Peak Energy is contributing to a more resilient U.S. supply chain and reinforcing the Front Range region as a hub for cutting-edge research and development. This project would not have been possible without the continued support from the Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade, the Colorado Economic Development Commission, and the City and County of Broomfield. Congratulations to our partners in Broomfield for their leadership in attracting this transformative company, further solidifying the region’s role in shaping a cleaner, more sustainable energy future."
