Spartan Composites Plans Saltillo, Mississippi, Manufacturing Operations
02/14/2026
The company’s new manufacturing facility will broaden its market reach across North America and internationally. Production is scheduled to begin in late 2027.
“We are pleased to expand our manufacturing operations to the Saltillo, Mississippi, area. This development represents our future worldwide manufacturing center and will help establish Spartan Composites as the leading composite mat manufacturer. We are grateful to the state of Mississippi, Lee County and the city of Saltillo for their support and look forward to a prosperous future together,” said Spartan Composites President Jeff Juergens.
To support the project the Mississippi Development Authority (MDA) is providing assistance for road improvements. MDA also is providing assistance through the Mississippi Flexible Tax Incentive, or MFLEX, program. Lee County and the Tennessee Valley Authority also are assisting with the project.
“Mississippi competes for advanced manufacturing projects every day, and we’re winning because we execute. Our focus on readiness, responsiveness and results continues to pay off in communities across the state—this time with a $49 million investment and 45 new jobs coming to Lee County via Spartan Composites. This project is a result of Mississippi’s economic development team sitting on ‘go’ so manufacturers can scale production and succeed in today’s market,” Mississippi Development Authority Executive Director Bill Cork noted.
Spartan Composites is a manufacturer of heavy-duty and light-duty composite access mats engineered to provide temporary roadways, ground protection, and stable work surfaces for construction sites and heavy equipment operations. The company’s flagship SYSTEM7™ and SCOUT MAT™ products are designed to outperform traditional wooden mats with greater durability, lighter weight, and recyclability, serving industries like utilities, pipeline, energy, and infrastructure.
“We are excited to welcome Spartan Composites to Lee County. Working in partnership with Tombigbee Electric Power Association, the Community Development Foundation and Mississippi Development Authority furthers our shared commitment to fostering economic growth in the region. Spartan Composites’ establishment here represents investment and the creation of job opportunities for the community. TVA is proud to support companies that contribute to the prosperity and vibrancy of our region and look forward to Spartan’s future business success,” added Heidi Smith, Vice President of Economic Development, TVA.
