05/25/2019
The company is bringing approximately $22.5 million in capital investment and creating more than 150 new jobs in Dillon County.
The company's new, 360,000-square-foot production facility is located on a 42-acre tract of land at 4461 Highway 301 South in Latta. New operations are projected to come online in the fourth quarter of 2019.
"As South Carolina's and Dillon County's new corporate citizen, we are excited about bringing a new manufacturing facility here. The decision to build the facility in Dillon County was motivated by the desire to bring our manufacturing facility to the U.S. and was also helped by the strong support of the local and state government. We believe this investment will be beneficial for both Spectrum Quartz and the people of Dillon County, and we are looking forward to being a part the community for a long time,” said Hirsch Glass Corporation President Alex Xie.
The Coordinating Council for Economic Development has approved job development credits related to this project. A $750,000 Rural Infrastructure Grant was also awarded to Dillon County to assist with costs associated with the project.
"South Carolina continues to build on our success in the manufacturing sector. Today's announcement by Spectrum Quartz further strengthens our reputation for having a pro-business environment, and we look forward to the impact these 150 new jobs will have in Dillon County,” said Governor Henry McMaster.
"We continue to see manufacturers making investments across the state and are pleased to welcome Spectrum Quartz to the South Carolina business community. This project and the 150 new jobs created will make a huge impact on Dillon County, and I look forward to seeing this community thrive for years to come,” said Secretary of Commerce Bobby Hitt.
