Port City Logistics Expands Headquarters & Operations at Port Wentworth, Georgia

Port City Logistics, a third party logistics company, will expand its operations in Chatham County, investing $80 million in a new headquarters complex and warehouse facility in Port Wentworth, Georgia.

With the expansion expected to create 200 jobs, Port City Logistics expects to handle an additional 50,400 TEUS through the Port of Savannah annually. TEUS or twenty-foot equivalent units is a unit of cargo capacity used to describe container ships and container terminals.

Billy Robinson, Chairman of Port City Logistics said of the expansion, “We feel proud, excited and extremely blessed to be able to partner with Peter Stravinski, Steve Brock, and the entire Stravinski Capital Management team on this incredible site in Port Wentworth. We believe strongly in the future of the Georgia Ports Authority and this facility shows our commitment to make this the best major port gateway in the U.S.”

Eric Howell, CEO of Port City Logistics said, “Being a few hundred yards from the GPA Garden City Terminal gates makes this an ideal property to serve Savannah and the Southeast. The supply chain landscape, especially e-commerce, is changing faster than ever, and this 1.1 million square foot facility gives us the agility to service any need. Our company’s purpose is to ‘Pursue Excellence’ in everything that we do, and this new distribution center takes us another step toward achieving that goal.”

Port City Logistics was founded in 2001 in Savannah. They are a full-service logistics company that provides Warehousing, Drayage and Over the Road Trucking as well as Brokerage Transportation solutions to a highly diversified customer base. Today, PCL operates nine distribution centers within a 10-mile radius of the GPA including Foreign-Trade Zone, Customs Bonded, Food-Grade and e-commerce specializations.
