"This investment is a continuation of our commitment to maintain world class manufacturing in our Westminster facility" as was stated by Anders Hillman, Director of the Westminster Production Unit.

The company creates products and carbide inserts that are used in mechanical engineering, automotive, oil and gas, and aerospace applications. "We are quickly becoming known for work in advanced manufacturing and technology, and it's companies like Sandvik which makes that possible," said Gov. Nikki Haley. "We celebrate Sandvik's decision to invest $12 million in their Westminister facility and look forward to their continued success."
"Sandvik's decision to expand here yet again is a testament to the state's business-friendly climate and skilled workforce," said Secretary of Commerce Bobby Hitt. "Thanks to team efforts on the state and local levels, this investment will benefit Oconee County now, and in years to come."
"Today's announcement is a positive indicator of the growth and health of our manufacturing sector," said Oconee County Council Chairman Joel Thrift.
