Advanta Industries, Inc. Undertakes $2.6 Million Expansion Of Its Clarendon, South Carolina, Manufacturing Plant
12/23/2015
“We are very pleased to announce the expansion of our South Carolina facility. We have found South Carolina and, in particular, Clarendon County to be a great place to grow our business. We continue to see growth and opportunity here in South Carolina, and we are excited to be a part of it,” said Advanta President Merle Grams, III.
In 2010, the company, which serves the automotive, industrial, energy and defense industries, opened its first Palmetto State facility in Duncan. Three years later it relocated to a larger facility in Manning.
In an effort to meet increased customer demand, Advanta is expanding its existing operations in Manning by constructing a 30,000-sqaure-foot addition to the current facility. Located at 1799 Ram Bay Road, the company also plans to upgrade the plant’s equipment by installing a new sheet and tube laser for cutting all types of steel.
As an incentive, the Coordinating Council for Economic Development has approved a $200,000 grant to Clarendon County to assist with the costs of real property improvements related to the project.
“South Carolina’s manufacturing industry continues to thrive, and today’s announcement by Advanta is proof of that. The company’s continued commitment to our state is meaningful because it makes a statement about the business environment we’ve cultivated in all corners of South Carolina,” said Secretary of Commerce Bobby Hitt.
“Advanta’s initial $3.5 million investment in the Central S.C. Region in 2013 was a great win for the region and for Clarendon County. Today’s expansion announcement attests to the leadership and skilled workforce at Advanta in the Manning community, and we look forward to their continued growth over the years to come, Central S.C. Alliance Chairman Mike Brenan explained.
