Davis Timber Company Expands DeRidder, Louisiana, Manufacturing Operations

04/28/2026
Timber products manufacturer Davis Timber Company, Inc. plans to expand its operations in DeRidder, Louisiana. The $1.9 million project will enhance production capabilities and strengthen the region’s timber industry.

The investment at the company’s existing facility, located at the Beauregard Regional Airport Industrial Complex, will add new processing capabilities, including a kiln-drying operation, to improve efficiency and product readiness.

“With its prime location in the center of the SWLA timber belt and the availability of essential ancillary services, DeRidder provided the prime location for our operations,” said Robert Davis, President and CEO of Davis Timber Company. “Improving economic conditions and industry support have allowed us to increase production and position the company for future growth.”

To support the project, the State of Louisiana is providing a $200,000 performance-based grant for infrastructure improvements and equipment. The company is also expected to participate in the state’s Industrial Tax Exemption Program.

“Davis Timber Company’s continued investment reflects the strength of Louisiana’s timber industry,” noted Susan B. Bourgeois, Secretary of Louisiana Economic Development (LED). “When companies with deep roots in our state choose to grow here, it reinforces the value of our workforce and natural resources.”

Davis Timber Company, Inc. produces poles and pilings for utility and infrastructure applications. The company’s operations include timber processing, treatment, and preparation of wood products for distribution.

“Davis Timber Company’s expansion is exactly the kind of generational growth we are working to accelerate across Southwest Louisiana,” added Scott Walker, President and CEO of the Southwest Louisiana Economic Development Alliance. “This investment supports the growth of existing companies, strengthens foundational industries like forestry, and advances modern production capabilities across the region.”
