06/11/2013
“Through our expansion, there will be 258 pharmaceutical and technical jobs coming to the Lehigh Valley as well as the benefits to our suppliers and supporting industries. Yourway will continue to expand our presence in the pharmaceutical sector by opening our state of the art facility in Allentown,” said Gulam Jaffer, President of Yourway Transport, Inc.
“The new facility will significantly increase our ability to service the clinical trial material supply chain. We look forward to a continued partnership with the commonwealth as we continue to grow our business in the Lehigh Valley,” Jaffer said. The firm will renovate its existing 120,000 square-foot facility to support the expansion of the company’s BioPharma services to include logistics and delivery for clinical trials services.
“My administration is committed to growing the Pennsylvania economy and ensuring there is a job available for every Pennsylvanian who wants one,” Gov. Tom Corbett said. “Today’s announcement is a great example of state government working with business to create new job opportunities. As a result of this partnership, Yourway Transport will create more than 250 well-paying jobs in Lehigh County.”
The company received a funding offer from the Department of Community and Economic Development including a $350,000 Pennsylvania First grant, $516,000 in Job Creation Tax Credits and $116,100 from the Guaranteed Free Training Program which will be used for skills training for both new and incumbent employees. The company will also receive a $1.75 million loan from the Machine and Equipment Loan Fund. The project was coordinated by the Governor’s Action Team in collaboration with the Lehigh Valley Economic Development Corporation.
