Floor & Décor Plans Baltimore County, Maryland, Distribution Hub
06/16/2023
The company will lease 1.3 million square-feet of space in a soon-to-be-built facility.
“Because of the willingness of Governor Moore, the Maryland Department of Commerce, Baltimore County, the Maryland Port Administration and others to invest in our continued success, we are excited to announce our second distribution facility in Baltimore,” said Floor & Decor Senior Vice President of Real Estate linke. “This second distribution facility allows us to strengthen our commitment to deliver and maintain in-stock, job lot quantities of hard surface flooring for our customers throughout the Northeast.”
To assist with project costs, the Maryland Department of Commerce approved a $825,000 conditional loan through Advantage Maryland. Additionally, Baltimore County is providing a $82,500 conditional loan to help the company complete the project. Floor & Decor is also eligible for various other incentives and tax credits, including the state's Job Creation Tax Credit and the Enterprise Zone Property Tax Credit.
“We are very pleased to support Floor & Decor’s expansion at Tradepoint Atlantic and welcome additional jobs to the region,” noted Maryland Commerce Secretary Kevin Anderson. “It is exciting news that the company has been able to experience the advantages of doing business in Maryland and are continuing to invest in our state.”
Founded in 2000 and headquartered in Atlanta, Floor & Decor offers the industry’s largest in-stock selection of tile, wood, laminate, and natural stone flooring, along with decorative and installation accessories, at everyday low prices. The company operates more than 200 stores across the country.
“We are thrilled to have Floor & Decor expand their operations here in Sparrows Point, demonstrating their long-term confidence both in Tradepoint Atlantic and the future growth opportunities for containerized shipping within the Port of Baltimore,” said Tradepoint Atlantic Managing Director Kerry Doyle. “We look forward to supporting this expanded partnership and ensuring their continued success as part of the TPA community.”
