Lunar Resources Plans Salt Lake County, Utah, Production Operations

06/16/2026
Advanced energy technology company Lunar Resources plans to establish operations in Salt Lake County, Utah. The approximately $85 million project is expected to create more than 400 jobs.

The investment will include construction of the company’s HELIX-1 Factory which will support production of its pulsed power technologies and systems for defense, energy, power transmission, industrial, and space applications.

“As we scale our manufacturing operations to meet growing demand for our revolutionary Helix Driver technology, finding a location that fosters innovation and growth was paramount,” said Elliot Carol, CEO of Lunar Resources. “Utah offers an exceptional talent pool and a highly supportive business environment that partners with companies to help ensure mutual success. We look forward to building deep roots here and continuing our mission to shape America’s next frontier on Earth and in space.”

To support the project, the Utah Governor’s Office of Economic Development awarded the company a post-performance tax reduction through the state’s Economic Development Tax Increment Financing program.

“Lunar Resources' proposed expansion will help elevate Utah’s position as a leader in cutting-edge manufacturing and technologies,” noted Jefferson Moss, Commissioner of the Governor’s Office of Economic Development. “Their pioneering technology aligns with our future-focused mindset and will serve as a powerful economic catalyst. We are optimistic about how this groundbreaking work will create opportunities for Utahns for many years to come.”

Lunar Resources develops pulsed power technologies that generate extremely high-power bursts of energy for use in defense, energy, industrial, and aerospace applications. The company’s systems support advanced power transmission, national security technologies, and space-based operations, including applications designed for use on the Moon and in other extraterrestrial environments.
