06/29/2010
"They're asking for pretty big incentives," Forsyth County Commissioner chairperson Dave Plyler told FOX8. "$3.5 million from us, the county, and $3.5 million from the city. What they do with it is up to them."
Caterpillar is also considering Montgomery, Alabama and Spartanburg, South Carolina for a component manufacturing facility. In Winston-Salem, the company is looking at a site at the city's edge near a Dell facility. Caterpillar is also requesting several million dollars from North Carolina.
The facility could hire up to 500 employees.
