OnePointOne Expands Avondale, Arizona, Production Facility
07/09/2021
The 50,000 square-foot facility in the Avondale 107th Industrial Park will be home to OnePointOne’s latest indoor vertical farm. The technologically advanced cultivation platform they’re building will utilize automation, AI and plant science innovations to continue pushing the industry forward.
“We are on a path to fundamentally rethink how plants are grown, utilized and optimized,” explained Sam Bertram, OnePointOne CEO. “We are thrilled to be bringing that mission to Avondale and adding to their growing tech community.”
OnePointOne said its proprietary vertical farming technology uses 99% less land and water than traditional agriculture. Also, the process is 100% free of pesticides, herbicides and harmful chemicals of any kind. This new facility will act as the production hub for Willo, OnePointOne’s groundbreaking personalized vertical farming service. Willo gives members exclusive access to the farm and its tech through a custom mobile app that allows them to select crops, monitor their growth and enjoy the bounty delivered to their door.
"Arizona is proud to welcome OnePointOne and their high-tech vertical farming production facility," said Sandra Watson, President and CEO of the Arizona Commerce Authority. "OnePointOne's selection of Avondale for this significant investment, which will create more than 70 jobs, once again demonstrates our state's ideal attractiveness for technology and innovation."
“OnePointOne’s relocation is a welcome addition to Avondale’s burgeoning technology ecosystem and the latest example of innovative startups choosing the region to scale their operation,” said Chris Camacho, president & CEO of the Greater Phoenix Economic Council.
