12/13/2017
The company will add 13,000 square feet to its existing facility in Scott County and introduce new equipment to meet growing demand.
With over 80 years of experience, Takahata offers a wide range of products and services worldwide, ranging from automotive parts, OA equipment, optical equipment, residential facilities parts, measuring equipment and medical care equipment. The company serves customers worldwide with operations in Asia, Australia and the U.S.
“Takahata Precision Tennessee Inc. is excited to move forward with this new expansion in Scott County. This is another step toward our continued strategic growth and commitment to Scott County. This will be our third expansion and will produce more than 80 jobs for the local community,” Takahata Precision Tennessee Inc. President Debra Thompson said. “I am very thankful for the cooperation and support from the State of Tennessee and the Scott County Industrial Development Board who assisted in this expansion.”
“I want to thank Takahata on its decision to expand in Helenwood, create 81 new jobs and invest nearly $10 million in Scott County,” Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development Commissioner Bob Rolfe said. “Takahata currently employs 290 Tennesseans and it means a great deal when a company who already has a strong presence in Tennessee chooses to continue to grow in our state and create high-quality jobs. I appreciate the company for investing in Scott County, a Tier 4 distressed county, and Tennessee.”
“Takahata has been a great addition to our county and has made very positive contributions to the community and its economic well-being,” Jim Swann, Chairman of the Industrial Development Board of Scott County, said. “Its results speak to the hard work of the Takahata management and employees and we are thankful to them as well as to those at the local, state and federal levels who have supported their efforts and this county. We look forward to the next chapter in the growth of this company.”
“TVA and Plateau Electric Cooperative congratulate Takahata on its decision to expand operations in Scott County,” said TVA Senior Vice President of Economic Development John Bradley. “Attracting and retaining jobs is at the core of TVA’s mission of service and we are proud to partner with Scott County Chamber of Commerce and Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development to help further that mission for the people of the Valley.”
