Canada-based Quest Window Systems Opens U.S. Plant in Garland, Texas

08/16/2018
Canada-based Quest Window Systems will open the company’s first U.S. manufacturing and distribution facility early next year in Garland, Texas.

According to the Garland Economic Development Partnership, anchoring the southern end of the city’s new Jupiter Miller Business Park, Quest USA, Inc. will occupy 329,000 square feet of industrial flex space currently under construction at 1720 South Jupiter Road.

Financially, Quest will invest over $12 million in machinery and equipment and the facility is anticipated to operate with a $5 million rolling inventory, officials said. Once fully staffed, the operation will employ over 320 new full-time positions with an anticipated annual payroll of approximately $12 million.

Founded in Toronto in 2000 and best known for their advanced window wall system, Quest’s products have been utilized in high rise residential building projects in most of North America’s largest urban markets.

"We were looking all over the country for our first U.S. location and quickly focused on Garland. The area is a hub for the window industry, including many of our key suppliers and customers, and there is a depth of talent that is not available in many other areas” said Martin Cash, CEO at Quest Window Systems.

Quest’s newest facility is a part of the 110-acre former Raytheon campus that recently underwent redevelopment, Garland officials said. As part of that reinvestment effort, Langford Property Company demolished over 750,000 square feet of outdated vertical space and constructed three LEED-certified buildings totaling over 800,000 square feet of new industrial flex space.

Quest will solely occupy the largest of the three buildings in the new Jupiter Miller Business Park. Several other companies, including Nutribiotech USA, Southeastern Freight Lines and Ricky Rockets have developed adjacent to this exciting center of industrial reinvestment in Garland.

“In terms of major industrial clusters, Garland maintains and nurtures a sizeable building materials concentration and Quest’s new investment will complement many of our efforts to support and further expand this important element of development and construction in North Texas and across the country” said David Gwin, Garland’s Director of Economic Development.
