Katz 1899 Inc., a joint venture between Israel-based engineering firm Katz Group and Peck Hannaford & Briggs Company, plans to establish operations in Dayton, Ohio. The more than $1.7 million project is expected to create 50 jobs.

The new manufacturing facility, located at 1960 Troy Street, will specialize in the design, fabrication, construction, and maintenance of process, manufacturing, electromechanical, and architectural systems.

“Launching our operation in Ohio is a clear statement of our belief in the region and its long-standing commitment for advanced manufacturing. Katz contributes deep technical expertise and a strong culture of quality in complex industrial facilities, while Peck Hannaford + Briggs brings more than a century of local leadership and execution know-how. To support the project the Ohio Tax Credit Authority (TCA) approved a 1.647 percent, eight-year Job Creation Tax Credit.

“Katz Group’s partnership with Peck Hannaford + Briggs reflects a long-term growth strategy that establishes Katz 1899’s new North American operations in Dayton while creating 50 jobs,” noted J.P. Nauseef, president and CEO of JobsOhio.
