05/10/2023
The 200,000-square-foot specialty molded fiber solutions facility will further expand the company’s capacity, with a variety of products, including egg cartons. Operations are scheduled for early 2024.
“The new facility will combine TekniPlex’s specialty fiber capabilities with state-of-the-art technology platforms obtained through our recent strategic acquisitions. Notably, the Ohio plant will be our eighth such facility dedicated to molded fiber solutions development and production,” Eldon Schaffer, CEO of TekniPlex Consumer Products said.
The project is being supported by a Job Creation Tax Credit approved by the Ohio Tax Credit Authority.
"As more customers worldwide seek sustainably manufactured products, TekniPlex is looking to Ohio to meet that rapidly growing demand. This investment in a new, state-of-the-art facility demonstrates TekniPlex’s commitment to innovation and its consumers while bringing 100 new jobs to Van Wert,” noted J.P. Nauseef, president and CEO of JobsOhio.
TekniPlex Consumer Products specializes in advanced materials science solutions for companies in the food & beverage and CPG industries with a focus on protecting products, strengthening brands, and innovating sustainably. The company serves organizations around the world in sectors including beauty and personal care, household items, and food and beverage.
“We had a tremendous amount of support and couldn’t have done this project without them,” added Brad Migdal, executive managing director of Cushman & Wakefield, a consultant who helped in the site location search.
